Sequences – Romanticism researched

The art festival Sequences 2021 finished recently where Skaftfell participated by hosting an art event by Anna Margrét Ólafsdóttir which took place in Seyðisfjörður. Anna Margét invited twenty residents of Seyðisfjörður everyday for four days to participate in a walk where they would contemplate the concept romanticism with different exercises and discussions. By the end of the week she held an open event called Symposium in Herðubreið, the community center of Seyðisfjörður. Curators of Sequences 2021 were Þóranna Björnsdóttir and Þráinn Hjálmarsson.

October 23, 2021 – January 3, 2022, West Wall gallery, Skaftfell Bistro Opening times are the same as for the bistro.  Þórarinn Andrésson (b. 1968), or Tóti Ripper, was born and raised in Seyðisfjörður and is closely involved in the local art scene. When Tóti was introduced to painting in 2009, he did not wait to be handed a paint brush but started applying paint to canvas using pieces of paper.
