Each year third year students from the fine art department at the Icelandic Art Academy participate in a two week workshop in Seyðisfjörður. The workshop is a collaboration between the Icelandic Art Academy, the Dieter Roth Academy, Skaftfell and the Technical Museum of East Iceland. All students use the extraordinary nature of Seyðisfjörður and the unique hospitality of the locals to their advantage in their work process. Open Studio: Livia Salome Gnos & Stephan Perrinjaquet
Swiss artists Livia Salome Gnos and Stephan Perrinjaquet have stayed in the Nordurgata residency since December 2012. They will conclude the residency with an open studio on Saturday January 5, from 5-8 pm. Stephan aka Dollar Mambo works in Seydisfjordur on a new album project. He’s using acoustic sounds and electronics. During this one month residency, he used audio material recorded in Tvsongur installation, and do collaborate with the people and artists living here in Seydisfjordur.
