Shadow Work – Short Films About Light and Dark

Throughout August and December 2016 London Fieldworks will be in residence at Skaftfell. Over the two-month residency the artists will create “Short films about light and dark” identifying and expressing local ways of knowing within the context of changing light. Bruce and Jo will introduce their work and encourage a discussion about the experience of light and dark in Seyðisfjörður. Folk Tale

Skaftfell proudly presents a unique staging of the voice sculpture Folk Tale, Ævintýri, by Magnús Pálsson as a part of the ongoing summer exhibition, The Assembly of the Hyperboreans. The event will take place in a storehouse on the outskirts of town in collaboration with the fishmeal and oil factory Síldarvinnslan. Magnús Pálsson was born 1929 in Eskifjörður, East Iceland, and it one of the most influential Icelandic artists.
