Living in the northern\u00a0hemisphere we have to\u00a0tolerate the fact that the sun is not a reliable source to tell time, yet it softly eases us into the different seasons with extreme light and darkness.\u00a0If we were to build our own sundial, how would it manifest? What would it measure?<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Four artists travel to Sey\u00f0isfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur during mid-summer to explore the sumer sky with the agenda of creating a sundial. Over one week they will work\u00a0with various\u00a0tools, to map out and measure the summer sky, that will result in a sundial.<\/p>\n

Tuesday July 17 at 18.00 they will host\u00a0a sun performance under the night sky as a part of\u00a0LungA<\/a>-festival. The exploration will be continued in an exhibition in the Skaftfell gallery, entitled White Sun, this coming November.<\/p>\n

About the artists<\/h3>\n

The Inspirational Young Female Artist Club,\u00a0IYFAC,<\/strong>\u00a0serves as a platform\u00a0and forum for creations for members of the group. The group has had two art exhibitions in recent years and have two in preparation. In their work\u00a0a focused has been placed on the ambiguous in everyday life.<\/p>\n

The members of IYFAC that are involved in the preparation for this artwork are Halla Birgisd\u00f3ttir<\/a>, Ragnhei\u00f0ur Harpa Leifsd\u00f3ttir<\/a>, Ragnhei\u00f0ur Ma\u00eds\u00f3l Sturlud\u00f3ttir<\/a> and Sigr\u00fan Hl\u00edn Sigur\u00f0ard\u00f3ttir<\/a>.<\/p>\n
