Recently, she has been developing a new body of work using digital production techniques to create paintings and printed textiles which have been made into clothes. In this new approach, it can be seen that Donegan is using both the principals and techniques of publishing as an integral component within her practice. Her method provides a fascinating way to highlight how Dieter’s approach can be seen to relate to the work of contemporary artists. For the exhibition, Donegan will present recent work in the form of clothes, paintings, videos, printed textiles, and zines.

We are grateful for the support of Björn Roth and the Dieter Roth Estate in realising this project and the assistance of the Living Art Museum, Reykjavik.

Opening: June 17, 2019, Skaftfell galleryOpen from 17 June – 1 September, 2019 The exhibition Cheryl Donegan & Dieter Roth considers Dieter Roth as an artist and publisher of books alongside the printed textiles and paintings of New York-based artist Cheryl Donegan.
