For his artist residency at Skaftfell in the autumn of 2022, Czech sound installation artist Jan Krti\u010dka made field recordings of site-specific locations in Sey\u00f0isfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and Sk\u00e1lanes. One can access these recordings on the website aporee.org, a database of field recordings from around the world. Jan&#8217;s residency was part of the project Gardening of Soul, a collaborative partnership between Skaftfell and Univerzita Jana Evangelisty Purkynev \u00dast\u00ed nad Labem in the Czech Republic.<\/p>\n<p>Jan Krti\u010dka: <em>I spent one month in Sey\u00f0isfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur exploring its surroundings. The Icelandic landscape is very specific and\u00a0something I had never experienced before. We all know photographs of the Icelandic landscape. But does anybody know how Iceland sounds?
