Skaftfell warmly welcomes Veronika Geiger and Hallger\u00f0ur Hallgr\u00edmsd\u00f3ttir artists in residence for the month of April.<\/div>\n
The Danish\/Swiss and Icelandic visual artists Veronika Geiger and Hallger\u00f0ur Hallgr\u00edmsd\u00f3ttir both studied their BA in Fine Art Photography at Glasgow School of Art and their paths crossed again when Veronika started coming to Iceland. When they were hired to teach photography to young creatives they found they\u00a0were equally\u00a0infatuated with the medium.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

They employ the light sensitivity of silver to make images of Sey\u00f0isfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur using a site specific room sized camera obscura. Thus revisiting the foundational elements of photography as well as taking time to really look at a place and wonder what happens when you do so.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Veronika has\u00a0an MA in Fine Art at Iceland University of the Arts (2016) and\u00a0Hallger\u00f0ur holds an MFA in Photography from Valand in Gothenburg (2019).\u00a0Their practice is primarily lens-based and their work has been exhibited internationally.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
