David is in the project <a href=\"http:\/\/videostream.ro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Artists as Agents of Institutional Exchange<\/em><\/a> and Narkus in <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nidacolony.lt\/en\/residence\/curated-residencies\/climbing-invisible-structures\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Climbing Invisible Structures<\/a><\/em>. Brannstrom is stayed for September and October with a grant from the Nordic Culture Point. Next weekend she will open the exhibition <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.skaftfell.is\/en\/2015\/10\/herna\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Herna<\/em><\/a> in the Bookshop-projectspace as a part of the Autumn festival.<\/p>\n<p>All welcome! Coffee and tee will be served.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"stcpDiv\">\n<h3>About the artists<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/davidcristinart.blogspot.ro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Cristina David<\/strong><\/a> is a contemporary artist based in Bucharest. Cristina studied at the Faculty of Mathematics and at the National Art University of Bucharest, in Romania. In 2007 she received an MA in Fine Arts at the Art Academy in Bergen, Norway. Her art works were exhibit in galleries and museums from around the world, among which some of the relevant exhibitions venues and contemporary art events are: the Contemporary Art Museum of Bucharest, Video Art Biennial (Tel- Aviv), Shedhalle (Zurich), Kunsthalle Leipzig, Montehermoso Art Space (Vitoria- Spain), Futura Gallery (Prague), Manifesta8- Contemporary Art Biennial (Spain), The Performance Art Institute (PAI) (San Francisco), Kiasma, Museum of Contemporary Art of Finland (Helsinki), Rotor gallery (Graz), Motorhalle (Dreseden).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<figure style=\"width: 500px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Cristina_D_2015\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.skaftfell.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/cristina_d_2015-500x400.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Cristina David<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Robertas Narkus <\/strong>describes his practice as the management of circumstance in the economy of coincidence. He brings together the ordinary and the absurd to explore notions of chance economics, hypothetical experiences and symbolic capital. He brings together the ordinary and the absurd to explore notions of chance economics, hypothetical experiences and symbolic capital.<\/p>\n<p>In her work <a href=\"http:\/\/www.victoriabrannstrom.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Victoria Brannstrom<\/strong><\/a> problematises gender, conventions and status and work mainly with subjects around woman&#8217;s traditional craftwork. By social interactions and performance she investigate situations and norms.
