Skaftfell, Center for Visual Art in East Iceland, is seeking to appoint a focused, independent and driven director. Skaftfell has the essential role of presenting, discoursing and encouraging the development of contemporary art in East Iceland. Its activities are based on an exhibition and event program, alongside an international residency program and outreach program. The team consists of three employees on an annual basis and one summer employee. The director is responsible for the day-to-day operation. White sun: a sun dial and summer sky exploration

Living in the northern hemisphere we have to tolerate the fact that the sun is not a reliable source to tell time, yet it softly eases us into the different seasons with extreme light and darkness. If we were to build our own sundial, how would it manifest? What would it measure? Four artists travel to Seyðisfjörður during mid-summer to explore the sumer sky with the agenda of creating a sundial.
